AVL Material Type

Approved Vendor List Material Type Codes:  LF, LF-Date, LF-Mark, LF-P/N, RoHS, RoHS-Date, RoHS-Mark, RoHS-P/N, and Unk. (These types are hard-coded into the system.)

  • LF: lead-free
  • LF-Date: allows user to identify a date code which designates that the part has switched from unknown to lead-free
  • LF-Mark: allows the user to identify a marking which designates that the part has switched from unknown to lead-free
  • LF-P/N: allows the user to identify a part number which designates that the part has switched from unknown to lead-free
  • RoHS: restriction of hazardous substances*
  • RoHS Date: allows the user to identify a date code which designates that the part has switched from unknown to RoHS
  • RoHS-Mark: allows the user to identify a marking which designates that the part has switched from unknown to RoHS
  • RoHS-P/N: allows the user to identify a part number which designates that the part has switched from unknown to RoHS
  • Unk: unknown

*RoHS refers to the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Or, in general, RoHS requirements include limitations on other heavy metals in addition to being lead-free. Many companies may not meet the full requirements of RoHS but still wish to identify the material as lead-free.
